With 50 years of experience RM Custom Cabinetry is well equipped to help you create your vision, generate the design, and manufacture your own custom cabinetry. Because we do not sell stock cabinetry, every project we produce is one of a kind.

Between the decades of expertise of our designers, the amazing craftsmen in our manufacturing shop, and the skill of our installers, RM Custom Cabinetry can give you the unique and functional space you have been envisioning.

We inventory various hardwoods and quality veneer core plywood that enable our craftsmen to cut, machine, and assemble a high-quality product. Our projects travel from parts cutting, to a machining center, and on to assembly where the cabinetry begins to take shape.

Once the cabinetry is assembled and all the various parts are complete, they go to final sanding and inspection. There the cabinet box, doors, and drawer heads are inspected, fitted, and sanded with medium and fine grit paper to prepare the wood to receive the finish that was selected by the customer.

Our 50 Year History

The story of RM Custom Cabinetry (formerly RM Kitchens) begins in 1969, when our founder, J. Paul Martin, moved to Annville, Pennsylvania and opened a cabinetry showroom. He was an exclusive dealer for Rutt Cabinetry and named his new company, Rutt-Martin Kitchens. This name became recognized for exceptional quality and service; a reputation we continue to build upon today. Paul was later joined by two of his sons, Richard (1973) and Troy (1984) as well as son-in-law Lee Bachman (1981). Lee Bachman and Troy Martin became sole owners of the company in 1995.

Lee and Troy became motivated by a vision of providing cabinetry that would offer a new level of design freedom and the ability to offer fully customizable, highest quality cabinets. Quickly outgrowing the original workshop, a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was constructed in 2006. Located only three miles from our showroom, it is frequently toured by our customers to see the production of their custom cabinets and to meet the craftsmen who build them.

In 2024 RM Custom Cabinetry was acquired and added to the portfolio of family companies. The brands Kauffman Kitchens, Kauffman Commercial Cabinetry and RM Custom Cabinetry were established under the umbrella of Kauffman Companies to serve all sectors of the cabinet industry. We continue under the leadership of the Kauffman family to provide quality products and services to our customers.

Several designs were presented and created using unique features including glass doors for our library in the TV room and repeating this concept in the kitchen. The cabinets were beautiful in cherry and the large kitchen, TV, library storage made our 1st floor special. Next they created an awesome maple and black master bathroom…..it’s stunning.  Recently, RM Kitchens helped us redo our guest bathroom. It is a winner and we call it our “Peacock Bathroom” because the colors were chosen based on three artists peacock paintings. Again it is one of a kind – the colors, funky lights, vessel sinks from Italy, super large floor tiles, and vivid blue tiles in the shower added pizazz. We hired RM Kitchens, Inc. to remodel our kitchen in spring 2015. They served as the design firm, cabinet maker, and were the coordinating contractor other companies, including the granite countertop subcontractor, appliance subcontractor, and electrical and plumbing subcontractors. The design was classic, clean, and took full advantage of the space available. The quote for services was appropriate; and the final bill was reduced by RM Kitchens themselves (without asking), when less revisions were required than anticipated. The work was completed when they told us it would be, and was of the highest quality. We have received numerous compliments on our renovations.
